We’ve all felt “out of alignment” before. In another geeky article moment by Kurt, we learn that there is a link between religiousness and better health habits, as well as spirituality and calmness. When you take time to be alone with your thoughts and meditate, it increases your balance in life and thus your happiness.
Kurt then discusses the six areas of life that we need to keep in balance. Physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, financial, and social. Some of these areas require more attention than others. The bottom line is, however, they ALL need attention. It’s just like certain parts of a car. Some parts, like tires, require constant rotation and eventually replacement. Other parts like the transmission only require periodic maintenance. But they all need maintenance.
Addressing and balancing all of these areas in our life makes us better persuaders. People who are learning and growing on a daily basis are more optimistic and enthusiastic about life. It also allows you to have more patience with others. No matter what you want in life, you have to go through people to get it. Even though sometimes “they’re the worst.”
To finish off the episode, Kurt and Steve review a recent blunder by a bank listing a single family home for sale in Southern California. The property was infected by mold and the bank presented two different bids to mediate the mold problem. The way this was done, however, was pretty atrocious and definitely warranted the blunder of the week.
